No More Knots is proud to be Australia’s largest dedicated remedial massage and myotherapy provider, with a strong reputation built over more than two decades.
Founded in 1998, NMK has become a trusted name in the allied health space, known for delivering high-quality, evidence-based treatments with a genuine, team-based approach.
NMK’s foundations were laid by Kelly Townsend, whose vision and leadership established the brand as a leading clinic in the industry. Early on, Kelly joined forces with her long-time friend and experienced team leader Kristy Donoghue, forming a strong partnership that guided NMK through years of steady growth.
What started as a small Brisbane-based clinic has since grown into three thriving locations—Greenslopes, Taringa, and Newmarket—now serving over 600 clients per week.
After 22 years at the helm, Kelly and Kristy passed the baton to new ownership. In 2023, NMK entered an exciting new chapter under Brisbane local Elisha McDonald—Remedial Therapist, entrepreneur, former athlete, and passionate business owner.
Elisha is now supported by General Manager Kristy Donoghue, who returned to NMK bringing her deep operational knowledge and strong focus on people, systems, and service delivery. Together, they are driving innovation, refining processes, and investing in training and development to ensure NMK continues to set the standard for remedial therapy in Australia.
Our leadership team also includes Natasha (Clinic Manager – Greenslopes) and Wallace (Clinic Manager – Taringa), both bringing years of experience and a deep commitment to excellent client outcomes.

NMK Shared Vision
The No More Knots Shared Vision was written by the entire NMK Team through a collaborative process guided by our business coach at the time, John Edwards (who was also a client for many years). Even though this was created many years ago now, we still believe it encompasses what our team value, believe in and strive to achieve every day, week, month and year! We hope it strikes a chord with you too!
At No More Knots we each try to be the person we would like to meet when we arrive at work. We build strong long-term relationships with our clients and with our colleagues. Our clients are valued and welcomed. They receive treatments tailored to their needs, goals, comfort and desired outcomes. We educate our clients in ways that help them long term. They are included in the progress and outcomes of their treatment plan. We provide an environment where each client is safe, relaxed, comfortable and prioritised.
Our positive culture promotes a healthy work/life balance, and we help each other in whatever way that we can. There is transparency and open dialogue between all of us. This helps us to be more effective and positive in undertaking our individual roles and responsibilities. We respect each other’s decisions and life choices. Together we are committed to achieving excellence and consistency in client treatments. We share effective interpersonal skills and have a strong sense of empathy for our clients. They know that we go the extra mile for them.
Staff at No More Knots are knowledgeable, confident, personable and honest. There is value in every treatment. We are committed to ongoing learning and we keep up-to-date. Each of us welcomes regular feedback through check-ins with therapists, receptionists and management to review how we feel we are going. Similarly we keep our clients updated on their goals and progress through regular reviews. We understand their goals and help them redefine into the longer term.
We donate and volunteer our time and skills to worthy causes. We take our services out to members of the community who would not ordinarily access what we do here at the Clinic. Our business supports volunteering by staff in their areas of interest.
